Australia 'like Britain but with good weather'
Jet-setters who book
luxury holidays to Australia will find a country that has much in common with Britain "but without the bad weather", according to the
Australian Visa Bureau.
Tom Blackett, spokesperson for the organisation, explained that Australia is the only developed nation to have escaped the global recession
He pointed out that it is "no wonder" that the island continent is "one of the most attractive" destinations in the world, particularly for Britons, many of whom decide to move there after enjoying
holidays Down Under.
"Throw more than 10,000 beaches and almost perpetual summer into the mix, and you can see why Australia is a great place to move to," Mr Blackett added.
His comments came after Princess Cruises' 77,000-tonne Sun Princess superliner was home-ported in Brisbane.
Travellers wanting to experience a luxurious cruise could book a voyage on the ship, which sails around Australia year-round and can carry 2,000 holidaymakers.
