Aruba 'perfect' for cruise holidays
Britons searching for
last minute cruise deals in the Caribbean might have the opportunity to visit Aruba, which has been recommended as the ideal destination for people taking sea voyages in the region.
One of the island's main benefits, according to Joanna Walding, UK director of the Aruba Tourism Authority, is its manageable size.
Visitors should have no trouble finding their way around and taking part in activities even if they are only staying for a day, according to Ms Walding.
"Tourism is the key industry on our island and we are very pleased to see that more … cruise lines are discovering the high standards of our facilities," she said.
"From a visitor's point of view, Aruba's compact size makes it perfect too - less than 20 miles long, it is really easy to get around. Our world famous Eagle Beach, for example, is only a five-minute drive from the port terminal."
People visiting the destination during
luxury holidays and cruises in the Caribbean can try adventurous activities such as 4x4 adventures along the coast, wreck diving and exploring Arikok National Park.
It was recently revealed that the number of cruise arrivals in Aruba increased by 32 per cent year-on-year between January and May 2011.
