Cruise Lines and Cruise Ships

Having shed its dull image long ago, cruise holidays today cater for travellers of all ages and temperaments.  We at The Co-operative Travel have low-cost luxury cruises from over 30 cruise lines, to suit every style of traveller.

More British travellers are embarking on cruise ship holidays than ever before. A growing number of cruise ships set sail from British ports – including the world’s largest ocean liner, RCI’s Independence of the Seas.  Today, you don’t have to catch a plane to have a great foreign holiday.

Familiar names – P&O and Thomson

The seven cruise line superliners in the P&O fleet offer a uniquely British holiday, with old-fashioned levels of service, teak decks and artworks on the walls. P&O’s largest vessel, Ventura, was made specifically for the British market.

The British crewed vessels are refined and elegant, sleek and fast, with sharp lines and classic styling. The ships sail to all five continents, with options that include a 98-day world cruise.

Thomson cruises are a favourite with families. The 5-strong fleet offers everything from fun-packed family entertainment to adult-only cruises, and the cuisine and service are first class. Thomson excels in Mediterranean cruises, but also covers Egypt and the Middle East; cruises average 7 to 21 nights.

Princess and RCI cruises

The Princess line came to the fore in the 1970s series “Love Boat” and has since become synonymous with low-cost romantic cruise holidays. The 18 ships in the Princess fleet journey to more worldwide cruise destinations than any other major cruise line, with almost 100 cruise itineraries covering 7 to 102 days. Always innovative, the company was the first to do Alaskan cruises.

RCI (Royal Caribbean International) cruise ships are exciting and innovative, and a hit with families. A host of sports activities, including rock-climbing walls on every ship, are matched by elegant dining rooms and opulent staterooms. Kids get their own adventure clubs, and cruises can be specially tailored for special occasions.

Cruise Special Offers

Celebrity and Carnival

These two cruise lines sum up what it’s all about – having an unforgettable holiday that’s full of fun. Celebrity cruises, part of the RCI group, dedicate themselves to exceeding passenger expectations. Superb levels of service and cuisine are matched by sparkling entertainment and children’s activities.

Carnival cruises pride themselves on being the world’s most popular cruise line, with a fleet of 22 spectacular superliners and a range of family activities on offer. Famous for their Caribbean cruises, they also sail to America and the Med.
