Princess Cruises

Princess cruises originally came to the public’s attention in the TV documentary series “The Love Boat”, which featured the cruise liners Island Princess and Pacific Princess. Now one of the most recognised cruise names in the world, Princess has sailings from ports around the world, including the UK. We at The Co-operative Travel have over 635 Princess cruises on our site, making them our largest cruise provider.

Princess is the world’s premiere cruise company, carrying more passengers each year, to more ports-of-call, than any other cruise line. It is one of the few companies covering every area on our cruise destinations list.

The Princess Cruise fleet

Part of the Carnival PLC group, the “sea witch” logo is carried on 18 modern liners of varying classes – such as the flexible, freestyle Sun class – ideal for those who prefer less regimented cruising. Ships vary in size from the modern Caribbean Princess, which has a carrying capacity of over 3100, to the classic Pacific Princess, which carries just 670 guests but boasts over 200 balcony staterooms. The newest addition to the fleet is Ruby Princess, which carries over 3000 passengers in 900 staterooms.

With almost 100 itineraries and cruises of 7 to 102 days, the fleet visits 280 ports around the world. The Adventures Ashore program features over 2000 land excursions, taken on luxury domed rail carriages or deluxe motor coaches.

Princess cruise destinations include the Caribbean, Panama Canal, Europe, the Mexican Riviera, South America, Australia and the South Pacific, Hawaii, Tahiti and French Polynesia, Asia, India, Africa, Canada, the US and Alaska, as well as worldwide cruises. From the UK, Princess cruises sail to ports in the Mediterranean, North Europe, the Arctic, Iceland and the Canary Islands, on ships like Grand Princess and Ocean Princess.

Princess Cruises: On board luxury

Princess cruises aim to provide the maximum in affordable luxury. Although large, the ships have the mantra: "Big ship choice with small ship feel."  Even the largest vessels have intimate public areas, with informal contemporary styling to help passengers feel relaxed. It also has one of the highest levels of balcony cabins in the cruise industry, and innovative on-board activities like the ScholarShip@Sea learning program. Of course there are multiple choices for dining, entertainment and fitness, too.

Cruises for everyone

In true Love Boat tradition, Princess cruises are the top choice with romantics. This is the line where you can be married at sea by the captain, or pop the question on a 300-square-foot Movies Under the Stars screen. Kids are well taken care of, with special children’s and teens areas.

We at The Co-operative Travel recommend Princess Cruises for anyone looking for a low-cost, luxury cruising experience.
