It is a city full of architectural gems, Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance era buildings and waterside scenes for that perfect romantic proposal. Prague’s size means it is easily navigable by foot so seeing all of the sites is easy.

Stumble across the famous barrel bars and drink reasonable priced Pilsner and you will see Prague as a great, cheap destination for romantic weekends away or city breaks.

Wenceslas square

Wenceslas Square… ironically not in fact a square, more of a street… is a central point and home to some of the most fascinating historical buildings in Prague.  At the end of the street is the Grand Czech National Museum and a statue of St. Wenceslas on his horse. The Old Town square is just 5 minutes away and this area is a great base for exploring the city.

Prague Castle

It is hard to miss Prague Castle… dominating the city’s skyline and bringing an edge of romance and history to Prague.
A great starting point for a stroll around the city, you can view the changing of the guard (12:00 daily), explore the many historical buildings which form the world’s largest castle complex and don’t miss out The Golden Lane where famous writer Franz Kafka used to live. You could spend a whole day just exploring this area alone!

There is so much to see in Prague you could wander its streets all day and never see everything! Some other highlights are: The Jewish Quarter, Charles Bridge, Old Town Hall and Powder Gate. You may need more than a long weekend break in Prague so plan ahead and be cautious just how much Pilsner you consume!
