2. Go all-inclusive
Paying up front for your meals and drinks makes it cheaper
The cost of eating out whilst on holiday soon adds up. If you’ve always opted for self-catering holidays because they’re cheaper, you may be pleasantly surprised at how cost effective all-inclusive holidays are. Paying for everything before you travel means that there is no need to worry about finding more cash for spending money.
An all-inclusive holiday is the best way of knowing exactly what you will spend, which is especially important given the current exchange rates.
The Co-operative Travel tip: All-inclusive deals are not limited to 5-star Caribbean holidays. We sell a wide range of European all inclusive deals for less than £300 per person.

3. Be flexible with your dates
Flying mid-week and at night tends to be cheaper
If you can be flexible with your holiday dates, then there are plenty of great bargains just waiting to be snapped up! If you can, it is cheaper and often quieter when you book outside of the school holidays. If not, consider travelling at the beginning or end of the school holidays, and avoid weekend flights, which are often more expensive.
There are some great deals when you depart from regional airports, which may also save you money on travelling further a field to some of the larger airports like Gatwick and Manchester.
The Co-operative Travel tip: If you don't have many holidays left, why not consider a 4, 5 or 6 night holiday? This will use up less holiday entitlement and can work out a lot cheaper than the standard 7 nights.
4. Great late deals
Don't leave it too late though...
There are some fantastic deals available for last minute departures and it’s a great way of grabbing a bargain. If you’re sick of the British weather and feel the need to escape to warmer weathers, then why not be spontaneous and treat yourself too a late holiday deal.
Many of the operators that we work with have seats and beds to fill and will reduce their prices at the very last minute. If your not really fussed about your holiday destination this is a great way to get a cheap holiday.
However if you have a specfic resort or hotel in mind booking as early as possible is the only way to guarantee a holiday to your chosen destination.

It’s a fantastic time of the year to holiday if you have kids - destinations such as Spain, the Canaries and Greece have plenty of sunshine - and you won’t pay the high prices of school summer holidays. You can enjoy savings of over £380 by taking a week’s holiday during May half term rather than during the summer holidays.
The Co-operative Travel tip: A 4-star self-catering holiday to Mijas, Costa Del Sol departing on 25th May for 2 adults and 2 children costs from £190pp. The same holiday departing on 27th July costs from £287pp
